THE JETT FAMILY CHRISTMAS NEWSLETTER 2023
Dear Family and Friends,
Another year in the record books and what a year it has been. I hadn’t realized that marrying Steve would make me a world traveler but here I am killing it.
My birthday trip was to exotic Salt Lake City to the RootsTech Genealogy Conference at the Salt Palace. He’s felt bad ever since and made me put it in here.
We then went to Reno, to a gun show with friends and Travis, his son. First gun show I’ve ever been to. The boys went back the next day and the girls went shopping! Fair trade, don’t ya think.
In May we went to Swan Valley to visit Steve’s brother-in-law, Russell. Ended up going to Jackson Hole and spent the day looking around. Beautiful country!
For our 6-month anniversary we went to Spain, (yes that’s right Spain) with his daughter and son in law from Layton, Utah. We went to see William, another one of his sons. He works for the school district there. Absolutely beautiful. He lived on the island of Formentera, which is a small island in the Mediterranean. Got to see so many wonderful things and had such a nice visit with William. Ended up in Barcelona, where I wish we could have stayed longer than a night, and then home. It was magical!
Next, we flew to Philly and then drove to his hometown of Wildwood, New Jersey. We met up with his two brothers and spouses. We were able to tour a 150-year-old light house, saw a cement ship that was sunk in the Delaware Bay in 1926, the boardwalk of Wildwood, (many a song was written about that boardwalk), met up with friends, (I learned a lot about Steve, let me tell you) and didn’t even get to swim in the ocean (weather). But we had a ball!
And then, to Chicago we went! I got to see the airport, the road, and the hotel. Oh, and our taxi driver. Nice guy! Steve taught a class at the National Symposium for Juvenile Services. I was so proud of him and I got to play Vanna White doing the slide show. I didn’t even have to wear a dress!
We travel back and forth, spending 3 weeks in Utah and 1 week in Idaho. Well, except for June and January, then it’s a whole month in Idaho. He likes to play in the snow and plow the roads with his trusty tractor, Red. My dogs are really good travelers but the bird gets a little freaked out. She’ll get used to it, I hope!
Our 9 kids are all doing great with some wonderful spouses mixed in there, too! Makes us glad we didn’t do them bodily harm when they were teenagers. The 22 grandkids are growing like weeds. They are so smart, talented and are doing really well in school.
Well, there ya have it folks! We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. But most of all we want to tell you how much you mean to us!
We love you all so much and are so grateful to have you in our lives!!!
Love Steve & Marie Jett
